Many ask where the name Oregano's comes from. To be honest, we decided early on that McAllister's Pizza just didn't sound right.  There had been a local restaurant in Sarasota, Florida named Oregano's that was a weekly visit for us. Because they had great food and had a very friendly atmosphere, we knew it was the perfect name.

The Amish decorations and items for sale started out as a way to decorate the restaurant without having to purchase everything we wanted. We have formed a wonderful relationship with our Amish neighbors over the years and it is a system that works well for all of us. The artisans get another outlet to sell their products and we get a constantly changing dining room that is unique. Many guests enjoy “shopping” while they are waiting for their meals.

The verse on the wall, John 15:1  "I AM THE TRUE VINE, AND MY FATHER IS THE GARDENER"  was chosen for a few reasons. First, we wanted to be able to give Honor and Glory to the One that made Oregano's possible in the first place.  We would not be anywhere without our Heavenly Father that has blessed us so greatly (the verse that was on our original menu was Psalm 126:3 "For the Lord has blessed us greatly and we are filled with Joy") and given us the gifts we have to serve those around us.  From there came the grapevine theme you will also find around the restaurant. The verse, our sign, and the big O on the door were painted by our great friend Victoria Reding of Creating Keepsakes.  Just this past year, wall murals were added by our wonderful friends Tom & Lorna Perkins and Helen Thompson. We have been the recipients of many great blessings along the way as well and can't express to you how much we have enjoyed the wonderful people that have come across our path because of Oregano's.

One of the most exciting things that continues to happen in addition to the great friendships is the little family that has been developed.  Our wonderful Kimmy has been with us since we opened and is a true gift. Daman has been with us almost as long and between the two of them, we can't imagine coming to work without them.  Helen, Cara, Autumn, Joey and Hope round out our friendly wait staff and our kitchen has been home to many wonderfully talented individuals who always seem to move on to bigger and better things. We especially miss Hillary, Dawn, Glenn, Trevor and Casey.

Our little restaurant has been home to many special gatherings over the years. Our pre-opening party was a 65th wedding anniversary for Tonia's grandparents, who are now still going strong at 72 years together! We have hosted a vow renewal, anniversaries, birthday get-togethers, reunions, Christmas parties, and much more. We love offering our guests a special place to make memories.

We would be amiss if we didn't thank a few of our regular guests who make Oregano's a part of their everyday life. Roger came in one day and found some new folks to tell his stories to and 7 years later visits us twice a day, every day, just for small talk and coffee. Local residents who make Oregano’s their daily breakfast choice, are known by  Lance just by what their orders are. Of course, the crew from Randolph Auto Supply that start every day with us, the girls from the bank that get their to-go salads every day and so many more, we thank you so much.

It is our true hope that you will visit Oregano's to try our great food. We hope to see you again and again because of the great service, nice atmosphere, clean restrooms, the chance to catch up with old friends and make some new ones as well.
